Development capital secured for specialist residential care homes group

Business overview

HCA is a group of care homes based in Somerset specialising in residential care for young adults with complex needs arising from autism.

The business operates at the high end of a specialised and growing market with high visibility to future revenue streams. The changes in government policy will drive a higher quality of living for autistic individuals in residential care which will place more reliance on quality businesses such as HCA. HCA is well positioned to take advantage of the positive market dynamics and also move into associated value enhancing revenue streams, such as supported living, using its existing infrastructure.

Our role

Orbis invested, and raised additional equity funding from a group of high net worth individuals, for a significant minority stake, enabling the business to fund the development of two new homes in Taunton which will increase the capacity to 32 service users and meet the increasing market demand.

Orbis was chosen ahead of other sources of finance because of our successful investment track record in delivering shareholder value difficult situations and our specialism in the healthcare services sector.

What was said

“Orbis have a strong focus and track record in the healthcare sector and have successfully advised and invested in a number of specialist care businesses.”
