BUSINESS OVERVIEW

Established in 1989, Clifford House is the largest provider in the West Midlands of residential care services for children with special needs. It also provides high-quality education for children who are unable to attend main stream schools.

The business offers flexible packages to children and young people with complex emotional problems and related behavioural difficulties. It caters for some of the most hard to place children.

I found Orbis to have a very client centred approach, initially assisting us to develop an exit strategy that met the differing aspirations/needs of the partners. Orbis’ sector knowledge and relationship were key in attracting the right buyer for Clifford House. We are delighted with the outcome.

John Brierley, Managing Director

OUR ROLE

Orbis Partners were appointed to sell Clifford House. Orbis’ expertise in the health sector was one the key factors in winning the mandate to advise on this transaction. We worked closely with the client to find a buyer with a strategic fit that shares the same ethos as Clifford House.

Clifford House was sold to Advanced Childcare Limited, which is funded by a US private equity group, GI Partners.

Advanced Childcare Limited is a specialist provider of children’s care and education services with a combined portfolio of 49 homes, providing care services in rural, semi-rural and urban environments.
