BUSINESS OVERVIEW

With sales in excess of £20m, Plascoat is a world-leading thermoplastic powder coating manufacturer, with production facilities in Farnham, Surrey and Zuidland (Netherlands) and a sales subsidiary in the US. For over 60 years, Plascoat has been developing and manufacturing specialist thermoplastic coating powders, targeted at a wide range of functional coating markets that require corrosion resistance, sun/UV resistance, chemical resistance, anti-graffiti properties, etc. Orbis was engaged by Plascoat’s parent company, International Process Technologies (IPT), to sell the Plascoat business.

Established in 1866, Axalta has 46 manufacturing facilities globally, serving a wide customer base in over 130 countries. The acquisition of Plascoat consolidates its considerable technical knowledge and expertise into Axalta to augment their existing thermoplastic powder coatings business and provide even more innovative products and solutions to its customers.

Orbis worked closely with us throughout the process to deliver a fantastic outcome. They identified a number of strategic buyers for the business and ultimately ensured we found a business that would enable Plascoat to grow.
