Gary Ecob Wins Dealmaker Award

In a closely-fought category, Gary Ecob, from Kroll Corporate Finance emerged as Young Corporate Finance Advisor in the Dealmaker Awards.

Our panel described Ecob as “having gravitas” and with a big opportunity now at Kroll, where after recently stepping up as a director, he heads the Birmingham team’s buy side operation.

After starting his career with BKR Haines Watts, Ecob has been doing corporate finance with the same team at Kroll (formerly Invex Partners) since 1999.

Our judges felt Ecob’s involvement in the secondary buyout of Firstline was a really good example of “stepping up to the plate”.  Firstline is a distributor of car and engine parts and was originally bought out following the collapse of car parts group Finelist in 2000.  Ecob led the entire deal process, negotiating the successful exit of Aberdeen Murray Johnstone.
