BUSINESS OVERVIEW

Orbis has advised the shareholders of New Reflexions on a multi-million-pound investment from Bridges Evergreen (Evergreen).

New Reflexions is a specialist provider of residential care, education and therapy for young people with emotional behavioural difficulties and learning difficulties. Established in 2007, it has a national reputation for providing outstanding care to vulnerable and challenging children, operating from 22 care homes in Shropshire, Cumbria and Scotland.

New Reflexions works specifically with young people with complex needs who are unable or unwilling to live within a family setting, providing placements that combine care, education and therapy. Its entire philosophy is geared around providing a stable, supportive and nurturing environment for these young people, for as long as they need it, encapsulated in their philosophy of “never give up on a child”. As part of this commitment, all its carers and therapists are directly employed and provided with market-leading training, to ensure stability and consistency of care.

Evergreen – which is managed by specialist sustainable and impact investor Bridges Fund Management (Bridges) – has acquired a majority stake in the business and will support New Reflexions to roll-out its proven model to other regions of the UK, enabling it to work with more vulnerable young people. Bridges is structured to provide ongoing support over the long term across strategy, operational and impact management, through access to their specialist networks of operating partners and advisors.

Orbis’ understanding of the healthcare market, advice and support have been invaluable in achieving a successful deal.
