BUSINESS OVERVIEW

Opella is the leading UK manufacturer of plastic injection moulded toilet filling and flushing products, selling to major DIY retailers and building/plumbing merchants both directly and through distributors.

Opella has a reputation for innovation and product development with a number of well-known and market-leading brands including Torbeck® and Delchem®.

Management identified a number of interesting growth opportunities that it will be better placed to exploit as a part of an enlarged group.

OUR ROLE

Opella appointed Orbis as advisers for the disposal. A focused worldwide target list of potential buyers was compiled, a number of which were approached through Clairfield International. This generated a number of interested parties for the business from international buyers.

Orbis was responsible for the preparation of the Information Memorandum and led detailed negotiations with the bidders, through to shortlisting and subsequent completion.

Fluidmaster, a California-based company was selected as a preferred buyer. Orbis and Clairfield in the US (New York office) worked closely during negotiations with Fluidmaster to deliver the required result for our client.
