Its’ services are highly sought after, reflecting its excellent reputation for the standard of care provided from its location in Preston, Lancashire, where it operates a school and several residential homes. As a result, it serves Local Authority clients from across the UK.

Margaret Calvert, Managing Director and Shareholder
OUR ROLE
Progress was owned by husband and wife shareholders Michael and Margaret Calvert who founded the business some 20 years ago but were now looking for a personal change of direction.
Orbis worked closely with the shareholders to understand the key metrics and drivers of Progress in order to highlight its underlying financial performance. In addition, we worked to identify strategic buyers who could further develop the core service proposition further. Priory Group, as one of the UK’s leading care providers, was identified as representing an ideal buyer for the business, given its existing similar care interests and geographical presence in the North West.
