Midlands Dealmakers Forge Deal Of Their Own
James Grenfell, and fellow Kroll Partner, Chris Gregory have agreed a deal with Kroll to leave to establish their own independent Midlands-based Corporate Finance (CF) practice called Orbis Partners LLP.
As part of the change Gary Ecob, who recently won young corporate finance adviser at the dealmakers’ awards and Shah Zaki will both be promoted from Director to Partner. The other ten members of the existing CF team will also join the new firm.
Orbis Partners will continue to be based at Kroll’s offices for the time being and the new firm will maintain its focus on providing entrepreneurial corporate finance advice to owners and managers of businesses operating throughout Europe. In the three years since Kroll Corporate Finance was set up, the Midlands team have completed 35 deals with a deal value of over £350m and invested alongside management in 19 businesses.
We’ve enjoyed being a part of Kroll as it has helped to establish the team as one of the Midlands’ leading corporate finance advisors. It is fundamental to our future to continue to align our objectives with our clients by investing alongside them and helping to grow their businesses and drive capital value.
James Grenfell, Partner
We wish James, Chris and the team every success in their new venture. Over the past few years we have enjoyed working with the Midlands team and thank them for their contribution to the business. Kroll’s strong growth has established it as a leading player in the corporate recovery and restructuring market. Our core focus remains working with distressed and under-performing companies with the London-based corporate finance team continuing to advise on distressed M & A transactions.
Gary and Shah have demonstrated their commitment and are being rewarded with partnerships in the new firm. They are trusted advisers to clients and have shown themselves to be a great asset to the Midlands corporate finance community.
